Hi all, I've just bought a Disco TD5, june, 1999 and it has a problem with ACE.

I bought the vehicle knowing this so it's not a surprise, but now that I've got it home I want to start bringing "René" back to life.

Apparently the previous owner bought a new ACE pump at a cost of "about £1200" but it went again, so they put a new serpentine belt on the vehicle which circumvented the ACE pump, the pulley of which now just spins freely.

I have warning light and bongs coming on, related to ACE and I want to know how to cure this problem, or remove the ACE altogether?

Anyone got any ideas??

Cheers
Dave

Yes, the warning goes amber if there's a minor problem, and red when it's major.

Description of ACE here:
Active Cornering Enhancement

You may be lucky, and it's just one of the accelerometers is out of tolerance (I had this problem). One is on the chassis, and the other is in the pod above the driver's mirror.

Get it onto a testbook (SLABS I think):
Land Rover Diagnostics

Should diagnise the fault in a few mins - hope it's not too costly!
