Disco TD5 AAP - ambient air pressure sensor question

Up !

Did find MHK100600L (£176.17+vat) and MKH100820L (£68;54+vat) but both of these are listed as "Sensor - AMBIENT AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING" These are the sensors on the airfilter box.

Any differences between the two ones ore are they compatible ? Another question: wich is the 4th wire ? The first on the left or on the right (looking the filter box) ?

I have been reading this thread with much interest as i have this exact senario 2000 td5 later programmable ecm, i have sourced a 4 pin sensor have yet to get a 4 pin plug but what axactly is the wiring sequence to the red plug i.e. which pin to which number on the plug any help in this matter much appreciated.

Input/Output
Connector C0158 pin 8 of the ECM supplies the AAP sensor with a 5 volt power supply. The pressure output from the AAP sensor is measured at pin 10 of the ECM connector C0158, the temperature output from the AAP sensor is measured at pin 31. The earth path is via pin 30 of ECM connector C0158.




In the connector view it's a mistake naming it MAF cos the MAF is C0149

Hi Engineer, if yours is a yr 2000 car and is std, it doesn't have a flashable (programmable) ECU. That came in with the EU3 cars built after 01/09/2001.

Mine has been changed to the later flashable unit complete with remap by mike of dynachip (highly recommended).

Just a quick thought but when Mike did the ECU work, did he replace your MSB (EU2) ecu with a NNN (EU3) ecu, OR did he merely substitute your MSB ecu with another MSB with a replacement flash-able chip?

You may be aware that the only neccesary change is to the chip-set, not the whole ecu? He normally removes the old and solders in a new chip.

Easy to check as the part no label on the ECU will identify what you have.

I ask this as it may have a bearing on wiring and getting the appropriate sensors.

I'm not trying to make this difficult, just wanting to ensure you get the bits you need.

Hi biglad as it happens i spoke to mike today as i have three jobs for him,the situation is that i have a later ecu but it is reconfigured in the remap process to accept the existing sensors so no need to change if working o.k.

I am going to change 3 pin aap sensor(MHK100600) by the 2003 td5 4pin aap sensor (MHK100820), I need help, which pin is responsible for what? which one is to supple power and which one is to measure temperature and pressure

why would you do that? did you replace your engine and ECM with a Eu3 one? ... cos if not there's no need for that mod
