ok so scrappyloz and i started in earnest, a little late (bout 1.30) as we had to go 20 miles to collect the disco from storage. the td dragged it up a long steep hill valiantly, almost like a last hurrah knowing its fate.

cut all the crash damaged front off disco.
removed battery and disconnected most of ancillaries.
fluids drained. recommend having several old washing up bowls handy.
put chocks under all wheels.
removed props. i started at diffs as they are far easier to access. then do transfer box end as you can freely turn props to access bolts.
undid engine mounts and supported engine.
removed gearbox crossmember having put wood blocks under to stop a total drop down.removed most bellhousing bolts except one on the bottom and ones at top.
removed bolt holding gearlever from top of gearbox.
removed engine far enough to rest supported and removed top bellhousing bolts and remain one from bottom. and seperated after much persuasion.

light faded too much now and we finally looked at clock.10.30 pm!!!!!!

Well disco gone. Few parts to list.

Used oil cooler pipes off td with connection to oil filter housing. New gaskets needed. All other parts done. New mounts required as rubbers a disgrace!!

Chassis looking good. Painting tomorow.

The pin on sides of rad/int being cut off and welded to top so use the same brackets. Has 300tdi body so funtimes.

few minor tips

plenty of vinyl gloves,
get your gaskets ready for flywheel housing when you take it off.
plenty of old washing bowls to catch fluids.
good chance to clean up the front chassis and totally lather it in chassis paint.

To be honest not taken a lot of conversion work. More progress shots. Will make a file after it goes in which should be tomorow evening or later in the week due to work commitments.

We have used the td oil cooler pipes and where they meet oil filter housing. Also 200 tdi fuel filter housing etc. Been thwarted by horrendous rain and no places anywhere near us for gaskets.

Td engine mounts were mullered. Like jelly. Can't get til tomorow.

Got £159 for disco weighed in.

Will put the pics up when its done as just two of us and well oily.

Got a gazebo which has been a godsend.

It had just been mullered by me.

He cut the corner, I went up the verge to avoid him otherwise would have gone head to head. They tried blaming me. Big mistake. Seeing as my tires marks were clear to see. Surveyed and proved it.

If you use the td oil pipes which is easier and cheap option be sure to swop over the coupling from the.td radiator as the cup on the 200tdi pipes is shallower so does couple completely so oil leaks under pressure.
