Hi all
anyone looking for roofbars for their discovery, but not wanting to pay too much read on. The Paddy Hopkirk roof bars for semi high top commercial vehicles fit just dandy, they are silvery galvanised finished with 4 gutter mount points for each bar complete with rubber flap to avoid scratching where the clamp goes on to the gutter. load weight is 75kg and they are fairly hefty all round. they fit over thebump on the rear of the roof with one adjustment position left to spare. 2 bars and all bolts etc cost me a tad over 50 quid from the local car accessories shop, could probably find them cheaper if i had time to shop around, all the flashy matt black jobs seem to be 100 quid on up to silly money. if you dont mind the builders van look then these could be for you. you can just squeeze on a mid sized roof box and a wind surf board side by side. hope some one finds this usefull.

Just dandy that one I was looking for a cheap way of getting the old sea kayak on the roof so I can get away from the one who must be obeyed!
