Hi everyone and thanks for reading,

I have a 97 jap import Disco County and have a wee problem in that the grey roof lining is coming away from the roof itself and sagging down.

Anyone else experienced this? and can you point me in the direction of a solution or fix for this problem!

Great site BTW, look forward to your replies.

Benn

Forgot to say have checked sun roofs for leaks etc and there is none! so can only assume that glue has failed between the cloth and roof lining.

Hi Benn,
Just read your posting.
had similar problem on my 97 jap reimport.Sorted problem by sticking
headlining back with heavy duty double sided sticky tape.Works fine.
The problem with mine was the glue giving up on one side of the car.

Ours is firmly stuck, but (like the rest of the upholstery) absolutely filthy.

Saw this clearly when I took off one of the sun-visors yesterday to fix a squeak in it and saw the sliver of headlining underneath the sun-visor bracket was actually grey...I thought the roof was beige or pale brown!!!

Would we get away with scrubbing it with upholstory cleaner or even a Vax wet vacuum cleaner?

Just don't want to get it nice and clean only to have it drop off!!!

Cheers

Malcolm

I have I doing the same thing sagging down. I have yet to fix it. Thort about using a hypodrmic shring with glue, get the idea. dvaidnadine

Sorted mine with spray contact adhesive, the stuff that you buy for vinyl flooring etc.

Worked a treat and you don't have to fiddle about trying to reach awkward areas, just spray into the gap and wait a bit...........

What ever you do, don't steam clean the headlining. When I bought my Disco, the Interior was immaculate and I mean immaculate. The rear seats had never been sat on sort of thing. However, the dealer thought he would have it valeted anyway and they completely stuffed the headlining up. They "re-Trimmed" it but it's got lots of creases in it. At least he knocked off R8000 which is the price of a replacement here +/-
