Hello all
Nathan here, i`m about to purchase an off road vehicle for shooting and rabbiting on the south downs also as a runaround for the misses, if any one can help with the following questionns i would be very gratefull

1/ Is a 94 disco with a recon engine a good price at £1000 with 130.000m on the clock are they expensive to maintain at this age.

2/ Will a defender be more reliable as i presume being biult to a more basic spec there is less to go wrong

3/ How reliable will a series iii be

All replies much appreciated

Nathan

You can get a better condition disco for less money than a defender ,
A series would be a big culture shock to your missus I think if not to you:D
1/ you can only go by the vehicle inspection as its more than the engine condition or mileage Any 4wd is not cheap to operate if maintained properly
2/ How long is a piece of string , at the sort of money you aree talking the difference in sophistication is not much
3/ piece of string etc

sorry to be so negative, but its the reality, if you can try and get a mate who has owned a landrover for sometime to inspect before you buy as you can get really caught by a 4wd at these sort of prices or even 4 or 5 times that amount if you dont know what you are looking at HTSH:)
