A TD5 on an M plate?

What's the point of these plastic "nudge bars"? I used mine once to nudge a car out of the way and the nudge bar got damaged. Perhaps they're just there to protect us from the likely event of being hit by a suicidal Kangaroo?

we got a real bull bar on front of 1 of ours one o dem big steal ones and its great for pushing walls / grannies / kids outa the way !!!
