Disco 4 central locking

Afternoon All,

I own a 2010 Disco 4. When i lock the vehicle with the remote or the button the door handle approx. 50% of the time doesn't lock the offside rear door and when it eventually does, doesn't always unlock with the remote unless you press it numerous times.

Door lock/latch failure is not uncommon on 3 and 4 models, I have had to replace two on my D3 over the last 5 years.
To be fair it seems a common failure point on all makes of cars nowadays.

I did them myself, was 80 quid per door for genuine latches, Iirc there are copy ones available, but I was suspicious so went OE, as could find no good info on the copy ones, that of course will have changed now, as the cars have aged.
Tbh I find any work inside doors, cars/cavs/trucks to be a pita mainly due to lack of access.

I know some people have removed the latches and repaired them, I took one apart, super fiddly, but doable if you have the patience which I do not!

Just looked on ebay, under 30 quid now, they have certainly come down!
