Hi chaps, following on from an earlier thread can anyone identify this for me please?

On the offside of the engine at the rear of the block there is something with steel pipes going into/out of and also a plug with 2 wires on it.

Can anyone help me? I am hoping that these 2 wires are a negative and a switched positive to the fuel shutoff. Is this so?

Edited to say sorry should have mentioned that its a 1999 turbo diesel!

Ah! Blow it! This doesn't happen to double as the shutoff does it? I need to find this as a part of the process for overriding the immo. Looks like the immo has packed in and we just can't start the thing. The feed to starter solenoid is the easy bit. I'm guessing the only other interface that needs bypassing is fuel shutoff. Any ideas where that might be please?

Ah! Ok so is it actually mounted on the engine or just kinda hanging off it in some way? Is it easy to access? Am I correct in assuming that I just need to give this a switched feed and along with the starter solenoid and all should be ok? I'm concerned as I am reading bits on the internet that mention ecm units and crash sensors on the bulkhead. This makes wonder whether its going to be a little more complicated than I imagined.

Sorry for all the questions but the cars not with me now, my friend is a few miles away and I'd rather have a clear picture in my head when I get there. Thanx guys. Must get a manual.......

it's on the bulkhead between the engine and horn. just an electronic switch to cut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident

Ok thanx and are my assumptions correct would you know? Need a good car thief that's what we need! He'd have it away in minutes.......

Just looking for confirmation I suppose that this giant Rolo is the device I need to provide a feed to in order to allow fuel into the engine when the immo says "no".......

If I understand correctly you have a '99 Td5 with a starting problem?

You don't say if will turn over but not fire, or, it won't even turn over?

If it's the former, it's likely to be fuel-related, if it's the latter is more likely to be electrical and immo-related, imo.

Hi and yes its the latter and almost surely immo related which is why I should like to bypass it. I have managed to do the simple bit and get a feed to the starter solenoid but I'm assuming its only the fuel I need to supply now and need advice on this side oof things. Thanx
