disco 2 v8 bung who,s kidding who

hi guys thanks for your help.
just come off the phone to landrover.
they said that the hole on the right hand side of my v8 is the old hole for the sensor.
they said landrover moved up the sensor.
so i need a alloy cover to cover the hole. 28.00 by the way
who,s kidding who here.
please any comments

There is a hole for the engine speed pickup, but that has a carrier plate in it that is used by the pickup. That is on the opposite side to the starter motor.

If you haven't got fuel injection, then you don't need the hole.

Picture shows the plate on the left of the block. The two access holes I referred to in a previous post were in the sump flange, not the block. Aplogies for any confusion!
