Disco 2 suspension upgrade

Hi All, I’m after some advice/knowledge/recommendations. I’m looking to upgrade my disco 2 suspension but not sure what to replace it with. It’s my daily driver but I want to do some greenlaning and the occasional pay and play. After doing some reading I don’t think I need a 2inch lift as I’m not planning any serious off roading or larger tyres.

Am I better off just replacing for stock suspension or is there an aftermarket option?

I’ve not done any proper off roading just around the farmers field and some tracks. I have been trying to do some research and lots have said that the standard height/setup is more than capable for what I want. I was just wondering if I should replace with stock suspension of if there was an aftermarket version that was slightly better.
 
Hmm... there are differing opinions regarding the rear SLS.
I have replaced the airbags with coils only to put airbags back on again because the car just didn't feel right but some people have replaced the airbags and never looked back.
It's a personal thing I think.

I have a disco 3 as well and I can see the benefit of the air suspension it’s a much smoother ride, but it might be quite a bit job to put everything back

Put some good AT tyres on the D2 and see how you get on. You can always make some changes afterwards if you feel it needs it.
No point spending good money on upgrades if you don't really need them :)
 
I'm very happy with the standard size and weight Terrafirma springs and shocks on mine and they have been on there for about 4 years with no problems and no obvious corrosion. However, others have had a different experience and won't touch them. Bilsteins OTOH seem to get a universally good review as stock replacement shocks.

Spring-wise there isnt really much choice in standard height. Genuine front springs are the best option there. I have Britpart Super Gaz shocks and they are hard. But not overly hard.
