disco 2 miss an surge

hi, can anyone help with my disco 2 td5 it misses and then surges at about 2500 revs, changed airflow meter still the same, any help wud be good,

td5 misfires are normally to do with oil entering the elec harness inside rocker cover. try cleaning before replacing

also could be fuel pump or turbo waste gate sticking

there aint a seperate fuel pump on a td5, all independant on the injector and cost a fortune, so lets hope it aint one of them

The fuel pump is an electric one in the tank,but in this case it sounds more like overboost from a sticking wastegate.

Thanks all for your replies, i,ll check rocker cover first, how do u check the wastegate? is it near turbo, would i need a mech to look at it?

Its near the Turbo, there's a solenoid and an arm leading to a lever on the turbo you should just be able to move it while it's still connected or it should flop about disconnected, and I did have a similar problem and it was the fuel pump in the tank just not supplying enough fuel
