2001 Td5 Disco. 2 Auto.

Aircon/Heater on 28 - blows warm (not as hot as it should).

Aircon/Heater on Max - blows very hot (as it should).

Any ideas pls..? Thanks!!

Show off! See all that clever stuff goes wrong eventually.
Mines got 4 fan speeds and a cold to hot dial. Its always perfect at whatever I set it at.
You'll no doubt have several sensors and things and will need to trace them down to find the culprit.

Seems normal to me as long as it wasnt freezing in the cabin, that's how it works on mine too and it has no problems... how do you kow that it should blow hotter on 28 setting? did you measure the outlet air's temperature from the vents and it's below let's say 30? on automatic mode the system updates the outlet temp contantly based on sensor inputs it will blow as hot as on max only if it's very cold inside at the beginning then the outlet temp will drop as the inside temp is rising

From the WSM:

Air temperature control

To determine the amount of heat or cooling required by the cabin, the ATC ECU uses the sensor inputs and the

temperatures selected on the control panel to calculate target air outlet temperatures for the driver’s and the front

passenger’s side of the heater assembly. The ATC ECU then signals the servo motors controlling the respective blend

flaps in the heater assembly to move to the flaps to the appropriate position. The target temperatures are constantly

updated and, in the automatic mode, also used in further calculations to determine the inlet air source, the blower

speed and the air distribution.

Ah... so it looks like the Disco. may be cleverer than me (not difficult, admitedly!).

Many thanks for all input, this may be a case of 'operator error'....... we shall see.
