so is the change from 300tdi to d2 round lamps worth it, or should i just go straight to facelift model ones and do some fabricatin work?

See link in #4 post for fitting the lamps![]()
No, #4 is for converting an early D2 to face lift lights. His photo has a D1 with D2 facelift lights.
The big pain as I see it is that the D1 wing's light apertures are curved/sloped and the D2 are square.
I've got these waiting to go on:

But trying to source a facelift D2 scrapper so I can just have the light panel welded in to save the arsing about etc.
Not totally adverse to the traditional method though and will go down that route if I have to.
you can get the plates the lights fit to from YRM solutions for not too much.
i did myn, 200tdi lights to 300tdi

Just managed to purchase a D2 facelift slam panel from Skan4x4 on eBay:

I'll be putting up a step-by-step picture guide for anyone interested when I fit it after the new year.![]()
Good for you Mark - well done.
I'll be watching. Can I be cheeky and ask what you paid? No worries if you don't want it broadcast.![]()
Course you can, pal.
It was a Buy it Now price of £65 on eBay via Skan4x4.
It's collection only so if they have another one there and is of interest to you, I'll buy it and bring it down with me in March if you like?
I'm not fitting the whole panel but just cutting away what I need and getting a mate to weld it in.
I've also purchased a custom made loom earlier this year which will totally eliminate any wiring in and plug chopping headaches.
Depending how handy you are with knocking up a replica of said loom, you're more than welcome to copy it.
I might actually attempt it myself and sell a few.![]()
That would be wicked - thanks. If you get one, let me know and I'll send the cash up.
I'm reasonably good with wiring but it would be great to have a look at yours.
Leave it with me and I'll update accordingly as & when I collect the panel after the new year.
As for the loom, I'll also bring that down with me in March as I won't be in the Disco.![]()
Brilliant.
You coming down in the company "car" then?![]()
