Hi everyone , mrs brushes td5 is suffering the common problem of electric wing mirror adjustment not working properly !
I've had them apart and found the left to right axis plastic racks are broken , now I've popped the captive end out of their sockets and tried super glue and melting them together with a soldering iron but upon refitting the glass they always break again !
Can you buy the little rack thing from anywhere as it's an easy fix with a tuppence part but I can't find them anywhere !
Any ideas peeps ?
 
Is that the small sawtooth thing? I've been looking for one as well after someone hit my offside mirror and it snapped so if you can find a source please update the thread! Like the idea of 3D printing one, sadly beyond my capability at the moment but roll on the invention of the replicator.

Can you upload a photograph of the part
Ive got the bones of a nearside mirror spare in the garage when i replaced the housing
If i have the part its yours.
 
Hi , sadly stc4625 isn't the bit :(
It's a very small strip of white plastic with teeth on one edge and a small plastic ball on the end ( ball is about 3-4 mm and the "rack" part is about 15-20 mm long )
 
Sadly not :( it's inside the round bit in the external housing !
Not looking good really , I can't believe given how easy the repair would be that the part isn't available instead we are all left needing a complete wing mirror !
