hi ,i am new here and would like a little help and advice i have a 2000 td5 disco, just clocked over to 143000 miles and still going like a dream, the problem i have is that the ride seems very firm compared to others i have had.the air springs and all shockers including steering damper have all been renewed(gas/foam shockers from island 4x4) but can still feel every bump in the road, body mounts maybe?also seems to rumble a bit at motorway speed, any advice will be much appreciated.cheers,los.

TD5's do tend to be a tad chopier than perhaps the 300 but I have found they are very tyre sensitive, pressures in particular. I was running too higher pressures in mine due to a faulty pressure gauge and it was extremely choppy. What tyres/pressures are you running ?

Hi los, i have a 1995 300 series and a 2002 facelift v8 with air suspension and ride is definitely harder/stiffer/choppier in my 2002. The suspension on the 300 is softer and seems to absorb the bumps better but on the down side it is like a wallowing pig around the country roads when you are giving it a few licks on the throttle pedal.

If you have changed the springs, you may need to get the fault codes re-set - Sometimes you can get away with changing the springs and not re-setting the codes, other time you can't.

There are no codes to reset, when just replacing the air springs. When you replace the ride height sensors there is no recalibration neccesary if you remove the car battery neg lead before starting the work.
