My air suspension doesn't seem to be working on my TD5 Disco 2 which I recently bought. When I press the button, it makes the ding noise and the amber SLS light appears but nothing happens. It sits at what I'd call normal height though.

I have searched but all I have discovered is that it's a very complex system! All I really want to know is; is it it ok to leave it like this for now or will it be a major hindrance off road?

Cheers

Just to make it clearer...the air suspension doesnt work or the ORM(off road mode) doesnt work? ...and which amber SLS light do you mean...the SLS system fault warning from the bottom of dash with 2 arrows (up/down) or the ORM active warning from the top with one arrow up which is just flashing?...cos if it's the ORM it doesnt mean that the air suspension doesnt work at all. ...just that the ORM is playing up for some reason. Explain better and i'll try to help you

and off course the conditions pointed above by @darrenm are mandatory...all doors and taildoor to be closed and the engine running

The only light I see is the amber one at the top right. It just flashes but nothing happens to the suspension. Sometimes the light will stay on constantly after that but not always. The vehicle seems to only sit at normal height so I'm guessing it's only the off road mode which doesn't work. I've tried doing it with all doors closed and with the engine running.

Cheers

Bear in mind that it isn't supposed to lift a lot and of course it's only the back end that lifts.

The way I check is as follows:

With the drivers window open, all doors shut, engine running and me on the outside, I lean in and press the ORM button and then stand by the rear wheel arch and watch for lifting.

If the light stays on after a while of flashing then i think everything works just that you cant observe it, then if you exceed 17mph it will self-disable ... be aware tha ORM is only +10cm on the back and it rises slowly.

Hi, i have same problem with my disco2 when i press the orm mode button nothing happens but it ping and the light just constantly flashes even when I'mgoing 60mph, I've just recently had a new tail gate door lock fitted could this be sending a message to the ecu telling it that it is not closed (even though it is) i used to hear the compressor when i parked up but i don'thear it any more, she doesn't sag at all and is always at correct height.

Hi TH, I would be checking the fuseable links in the engine bay fuse box if I were you.

i think there is a speed limit when it works, doesn't work over a certain limit, maybe wrong, do a search i am sure i read it somewhere,
