disco 2 abs lights tc etc

hi same old problem abs lights come back on after a year.
i think its down to a rear abs sensor.
any body know how to change one.
thanks.

How do you come top the conclusion that it is one of the rear sensors?

It's easy to change,
Remove wheel
Remove brake caliper
Remove brake disc
Undo screw holding sensor in hub and remove sensor
Unplug wiring and refit new sensor.

I also have all the ABS lights showing but am at a loss as to how to identify the cause although I have removed and cleaned up all my sensors, replaced discs and pads.

hi last year had the fault codes read and it pointed to a faulty offside rear sensor.
cleared the faults, abs worked ok ,and now they have come back on after a year.

I had a very similar problem last year on my TD5. The three lights came on, so I got fault codes read and it said intermittent signal from the front driver side wheel.
Had it re set and it was OK for a few months, but they came back on again.
I removed the sensor and found that it's face was damaged, tuned out that there was rust within the wheel hub. This meant as the wheel was turning the bits of rust were flying around inside the hub, disrupting the sensor and eventually doing it in completely.
So when you remove the old sensor check to see if there is any damage to the end of it, and if there is then take a deep breath and reach for your plastic as a new wheel hub is around £300.

The most common sensor is the drivers side one that packs up.I had same fault on mine and the fault codes said it had both drivers side front and back had intermitent faults so I was told to change the front one first and it has being fine since.Look on eBay.co.uk: LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 2 ABS SENSOR FRONT (item 320074994741 end time 22-Jun-07 13:55:18 BST) for a new sensor.And if you have not got the rave electronic workshop manual then got to The Green Oval - Home and the download page and download the file and copy to disc and you can reed how to do and thing on the disco then.
