Hi, Just as the disco comes to a stop (1-2 mph) the abs pump starts (vibration on pedal) I suspect a sensor or sensor plug. the disco is on tarmac and moving in a straight forward direction. I thought the abs was inhibited from activating under a certain speed. so could it be something else. Thanks

Hi, it can be ABS or EBD misbehaviour due to a signal missbalance, make sure that the tyre pressures are even per axle and as close as possible to the factory recommended ones cos the system was calibrated to work 100% within those parameters including tyre dimensions. It happens also when different brand sensors are mixed. It's not a faulty one cos if it was you should have got the 3 amigos.

Another issue can be if the calipers are not braking the wheels with the same power so one will stop faster than the other

Hi, Sierrafery, I suspect the latter (Brake in balance) as nothing has been changed in the last 2 years, this fault has just started today. Brake discs and pads were done 2 years ago but we do a very low milage and they look fine, but could probably do with a quick clean-up slides etc. could be a sticky piston as we have that before as well.

Check your tyres, had a nightmare last autumn with similar problem, it turned out tyres although they had deep tread the rubber had hardened and no longer gripped properly. new set of tyre fixed it dead.

I used to get this on one certain road at slow speed, I think it was becasue there was always a bit on fine grit as it was at the bottom of a hill, plus the road was not the smoothest.
