Thanks if you can keep me right before I refurb a Disco 1 axle for Defender use - it's a 24 spline non-ABS which I believe came from a mid 90's 300TDi. Some differences with steering linkage set up between Disco 1 and Defender (I think? Steering damper location being one of them) but generally the same and interchangeable I'm hoping.

I'm doing this project the hard way and preparing all the major components prior to building the vehicle up on a galv chassis which is the next step - didn't plan it this way but have a V8 3.9EFi from a RRC which needs a home hence my back-to-front way of doing things.

If someone can give me the OK to proceed on basis that Disco 1 axle will go straight on I can get this next piece of the puzzle done. Many thanks.

defender 300tdi and on is the same case as disco previous defender front axles had narrower radius arm brackets, if you fit a v8 as lr did right forward the disco/ rrc front prop also fits
damper bracket bolts to any diff housing
