Does anyone know if you can get into the TPS and repair it.
I am not getting revs around 1500rpm. which is ok unless i need to do 30mph I have to stick it in 3rd and rev it at 2000. I guess the track has worn at this rev range as its a popular rev range.

If not anyone got one for sale?

Its the one connected to the pedal.

Regards
Stephen.

I've got a spare one if you get desperate.

I'm keeping it as a spare in case mine gives up as I know they are hard to come by and not cheap.

It don't look like it will open either.

OK bought one on ebay and plugged it into the engine bay before i strip it out and it does the same ahhhhhhhh........ I have taken the back out and filled it full of electrical cleaner and still got the same problems. Is there anyone in Chesterfield , Derbyshire or Chester with an Auto that i can try it on to confirm its the TPS and not something else at 1700 rpm. its very simple to unplug and try my no is 075000 63381

Any ideas anyone.

I think I am unplugging the naff sensor but the revs rise a little thats about it. He plug is just beyond the air box connected to a square box. Brian could I either loan your tps or send you my spare to see if you get the same fault. I would like to rule Out the spare tps. I have spent the weekend looking for disco one autos to try it on lol

I wasn't sure you can check it like you described.

I presume your problem occurs even when not moving and revving.

If its not the ICV it might be the ecu.

I pulled the socket off the air box and the engine changed tone a little I DIDNOT take it for a drive. Guess thats next.

I hope its not the ECU I should have gone for a manual.

I plugged the new (second hand) TPS into the socket and twisted the end by hand as if revving it. This is how I found i had the same problem. I dont know yet if this one is faulty too yet. Hence why I am trying to find someone with an auto I can try it on.
I keep looking around garages and parked landys lol I will be arrested soon for loitering or something. lol

I really apreceate all the help

OK thought i would post a few pics of the TPS as i have not found any yet on any forum.
Does anyone have a wring diagram for the the TPS

I downloaded rave but its so huge I cant find it.

Anyhow. I have just re bent the wiper arms that run on the track so they run in a different place and cleaned the track with cleaner. Put it back together and it now revs perfect with no dead spots.
I will now do it with the one on the Discovery and see if i can reproduce the success.

All is well and has worked a treat. If anyone is doing this remember not to glue the plate in until you have the disco running as you may need to spin the disk slightly to get the revs right. I did this connected in the engine bay.

I will run it a few weeks then report back.

Have fun
