Dirt in clutch fluid

Hello all , just changed the clutch fluid in my td4 , using tips from joes how to thread , as there was dirt in the reservoir , gave it a good flush out with new fluid , worth doing as the clutch pedal feels better , with improved take up and smoother operation , not to sure where the dirt came from though !

Thanks for that james , there was black particles in the fluid , is there any thing i should replace ?

You can also get bits falling in from the soundproofing when you take the lid off the reservoir........slide a piece of thin card behind it before you remove the lid.

i wouldn't as it would be a waste of time and effort

And you know the seals are failing and tomorrow cos you've done nothing about it, the brakes fail.

that could take a long time though

as long as the fluid level stays up, why bother

brakes failure do to clutch cylinder seals is a new one on me do tell how that works
