Different 200tdi models (bone question alert)

Are there more than one type of 200tdi? So, the one with the curly turbo on the left side of the engine is the one in my Defender. Others seem to have a flat plate (heat shield?) across from the rocker cover.

Are they both 200 tdi's? Will they both fit into a 1991 Defender?

there are 2 types of 200 tdi disco and defender,block ,pistons and head are identical timing chest flywheel housing turbo and other parts differ

Iirc the range rover has the same set up as the disco version but different block numbers?
