Don't get mixed up with the Differential and Diff locking.

thanks for links but could you put in black and white please lol i have a 5 speed gear box im aware of if we say that the other is a gear box how many is there and what are there uses doh!

they are in black and white..... the most simplest terms ....explanation to a woman

Yep, which is why you should probably research "differentials" before trying to find out about diff locks.
