Diff Lock Problems

Have a 1998 Discovery and my diff lock wasn't working at all then push gear stick as far to left as possible and light came on and engaged diff lock, let go and light goes out and diff lock stops working, pushed back across and it works again so tied it over and carried on playing off road, I have tried using it every day now and it is working better but still hit and miss and there is a lot of movment in hi/lo stick
any help would be nice thanks

needs adjusting ,when you push lever it tensions a spring that pushes diff lock selector,yours isnt enough,pivot eye bolt can be screwed in out to adjust it or could be worn bushes on pivot
