Spent this afternoon tightening up the diff lock linkage. Everthing seemed to be going well I discovered the lower bracket rusted solid, so into the vice and loosened off, an adjustment to the middle and got it all back together.
Tested it and although it seems to be going in through the gate and the lower arm appears to travel to the full extent double clicking I still didn't get a light on the dash.
I tested the wiring and the lamp lit, I backed out the switch a bit and tried again, but still no light.
I'm now not sure if I've sorted it or not, 'veI been onto e bay and ordered another switch but if that doesn't work I 'm running out of ideas.
There's a way of testing the diff locks but I'm not sure how it goes something about jacking up the car and trying the wheels.
Any advice welcomed.

jack up a front wheel and try and spin it ,in both in and out of diff lock wheel may need to be turned a little for diff lock to engage ,if you do change swith wind it in only enough to operate light ,too much will jam diff lock selector in the box and so it wont work then

Hi what will spinning it tell me?
I did try to replace the switch before, over tightened it, it sheared off threw me in a panic and I had to buy a set of easyouts to get the brass threaded portion back out of the gearbox.
I'm an idiot...apparently!!!

as i said if its screwed in too far in jams the selector ,spinning or turning wheel tells you diff locks engaged as wheel wont turn but will when not ,also it may be necessary to turn wheel so that diff lock collar aligns with ouput shaft to enable it to engage

My diff light sometimes need me to drive a couple of feet to come on and same again when off. Very rarely does it come on when stationary:)
