Went to a 4x4 course in Sussex today in my TD5 90 yr 2000

Selected high and low fine
Diff lock would not select by pushing left and light did not come on

We did a "crossed axle" and diff lock appeared engaged driving a front and rear wheel

Any thoughts?

Regards
Pete

I had this very fault with mine when I bought it. The switch itself is very cheap and it's a simple fix. Pop the wire off and touch it to earth. If it lights the switch (with the ignition on) then the switch is faulty.

sometimes the diff switch isnt screwed in far enough, so can not earth to complete the circuit and light the dash light, but it makes no difference to whether the diff lock works or not

mines got a life of its own sometimes works, sometimes not; mainly works on rough rocky ground, this suggests a loose connection somewhere :)
