i have put to posts up about my diff lock but i am still avin trouble with it

i had a clutch put in a couple of months ago and since then the diff lock doesnt work???

this is head bangin as i have the low box and high box workin.

the transfer gear knob goes into the diff lock poistion and when i moved it the round pin goes in and out of that hole, so i am assuming that it is goin in to diff lock but the light isnt goin on i have fiddled with the wires but no joy it still isnt comin on ????

any ideas about where the wirin is as i can not seem to find the problem

Cheers anthony :p

First you need jack a wheel up and make sure difflock is working, if it is you may have a faulty switch, if it isn't you need to check the linkage is moving the selector on the box.

how do i test if it is in diff lock and i have a manual car ?

do u have it in neutral and when u av it jacked up and in diff lock the wheel will no move will it

that right ????

if u know the difflock is working it could just be the difflock indicator light, a few screws out n have the shroud and the cluster out will tell you if its that or not, saves gettin under it.
swap the bulbs about and if still no luck u can trace the copper track back on the back of the cluster with a probe, i found a break in that track before.

i have a feeling the difflock switch on the gearbox grounds to earth (i could be wrong so feel free to correct me) so 1 way to test the light is to ground the end of the wire at the transfer box end, that should cause the light to come on... if u dont wana take the instrument cluster apart.

as u say you have posted this problem a good few times, and every time u get told to do the same thing.. so have u done the tests that people have advised you to do ? ? ? ? ? ? if so what happened when u did what you was advised ? ? ? ? ?

i had the same problem as you, and i know nothing about fixing any motor, but did what was advised and some how with very little effort in 10 Min's found out it was just the light and got that work in with a wiggle,

put car in 1st gear and engage difflock then jack 1 front wheel off the floor and try to turn it. If it turns ya difflock int engaged.
