my ignition barrel has just broken where the contacts meet and have been quoted £130 for new one, does anyone know if i could bypass this by connecting a switch for my glow plugs and a separate switch for the starter, i.e a push button, and if so how?
your help is greatly recieved :(

got 2 good ones in garage going cheep ! iam in notts 07973539352 if you need one

keep your eyes open on ebay and you'll find one for less than a fiver delivered

ave got whole vehicles for much less than 130 quid

you can get a s2a desiel ignition switch from paddock for £18.95 + vat + p&p but thats still gonna be under £50
and they arnt difficult to change

rang them up earlier but because its got the steering lock on it, apparently i need the whole steering lock column as well, hoping to leave old one on, just need to know about by passing the electrics and fitting them to a push switch instead, will the glow plugs turn off automatically?

 Get earlier one without steering lock maybe? ...switches just use your common sense[cross checked with a wireing diagram].& test each function first before moving /lengthening wires to new panel I suggest
