I know that I have the schedule and details somewhere among my downloads but can't find them. Where is it to be found or, what are the jobbies to be done for a 24000 mile service?

Without wishing to be chided with RTFM advice, where? Is it in the workshop manual somewhere? Searching "service" in the 1362 pages gives a shedload of results.

BTW - Could you also provide the link to your rather splendid AirCon condenser pictorial?

Send me an email and i will send you the workshop manual if that will do,
includes a maintenance section but doesn't say exactly how much needing done at 24K - maybe all;)

So, pages 90 to 101? I may get back to you when I've had a read through. Apart from a chainspanner for the oil filter,am I likely to need any special tools?

In answering, please be mindful that you are speaking to someone who has very little mechanical experience and is as uncomfortable as a tortoise when lying on his back.

Can it all be done in a gutter with the nearside wheels on the pavement?

Yes begins at pg. 90

Grease gun for U/J's & Propshafts - Lithium grease

If you got auto-box you need a torx tool for filter removal, can't remember the size but it can easily be found

On a diesel there a couple of items needing a good clean, sure the derv drivers can help:D

I do mine on the drive on a couple of slabs to raise - should be level for the sake of fluid levels

Personally i don't care so much what should be done when, i do it all quite often - spoils the old Range - hope it rewards me:)

You won't need a chain spanner for the filter. It ain't that type of filter.

OK. Thanks. I do sort of rely on your advice. When you guided me through the the glow-plug/manifold issue, I was really surprised about how easily bolts came out of and into the block. Is this 'cause the things are machined rather better than Mk3 Cortinas or is it due to the metals being cast ally rather than iron? I am scared ****less about overdoing things and stripping threads. Is it worth getting a 3/8 torque wrench to make sure that I'm getting torque's right? I'm sparrow-wristed and not of bulky physique but I was shocked how soft everything felt!

Extract the archive to a folder, then open either "Welcome.pdf" (and then click in the middle of the screen) or "rave-lr.pdf" which will take you straight to the car list. It's interactive, so once extracted you don't need to worry about all the other *.pdf files. If this doesn't work redownload. Size of extracted archive should be 669MB.

Will have to downlaod again

The converted file on mine is 495Mbyte. Most of the downloads of RAVE come as an ISO file that has to be "Mounted" or converted before it will run.
If you get stuck, I can supply on CD. PM me if you want it.:)
Might take you up on that, ive found a torrent for it, is the disco 2 covered by disc 1?

Took me a while to figure it out, kept looking through all the pdf files and thought it was a mess, but with the interactive it's very easy.
