Hi,
Is our diesel ECU linked to power steering system? Well, i noticed an increase in idle speed when rotating the steering wheel while parked n engine runing.
Just curious to know. May be a underlying problem?

No it is not linked to the ECU. However idle will increase to avoid a stall as load is put on engine by steering pump as steering is turned. Normal and there is no problem.

The PAS pump puts load on the engine, the ECU recognises there is load and increases fuel to compensate. It doesn't know why there is extra load, just that there is.

Thanks but how it happens if ECU has no connection with psteering?

Diesel engine speed is controlled by fuel. If the engine is loaded at idle the ECU knows this by the fall in RPM, it then increases fuel to return the idle speed back to it's preset value. When the load is removed it decreases fuel to reduce idle speed back to it's preset value.
