Hi all anyone out there an expert on diesel fuel injection pumps?, I have a 1988-89 2.5 diesel na defender with a couple of leaks on the fuel pump.I dont want to take it off the road while the pump is repaired so Iv e been looking for a pump to put on while mine is done.I found the same sort of injector pump think its a lucas dps pump that seems the same apart from the fact it came off a defender that was changed to a turbo.Difference in the pumps is while mine is a standard plodder , on the side has what looks like a blanking plug, on the turbo pump it has a small block with two threaded ports (inlet and outlet) poss for air vacuum for the turbo.could the ports be blocked and the pump used as a normal one? any advice welcome cheers Russ.

If you can check the numbers it's easier to match & make sure it's the right one, I have a 2.5 na ex mil, it's a lucas cav pump and the number for mine is dps 8520a060a, dsa 594. It's the 060a type you need as I'm pretty sure the td is different. I paid £70 to have the seals redone in mine by panda diesel, otherwise by a cheap second hand engine with the pump on as they're about £470 + vat.
Hope this helps
