Hiya guys, Well you are all a constant wealth of knowledge for my defender, it was a dream of mine that ive had since i was a small kid, and when i was 19 i finally managed to buy myself one and she has been a dream ever since! So here she is; ill split her up into different posts and then keep this thread updated with pics and news for you all to have a gander at; i wouldnt say she is a shining example atall, but its my baby :D So here is how i got her to start off with:

And then the day after i got her, the obligatory first green lane visit happened!

Up next in prep for my firt trip to whaddon i got a simple cb fitted, and popped a air cone on the top of the snorkel as a short term fix to the whading needs of myself :D Whaddon was a great day out! snowed, rained, alot of mud and alot of fun, went with my mate in his sport track..

The only damage i managed to sustain was as follows: but by the looks of the weld, this has happened before!

One day a little while back someone invited me to go down a green lane with them nearish to me, they didnt want to go alone, and guess who ended up going first.. me! Unfortunatly this ended up badly, going down a quite a big mud hole and puddle that i didnt see,

When trying to get out it hit something big, not sure what it wa, i assume a large piece of concrete where the lane had perished, so i had to be carefully winched out in the end, ending with this;

and a snapped rear prop..

So limped home very crabishly.. got home and took a sledge to the radius arm and got it straightish but wasnt enough to be happy, so used it to drive to the parts place. and picked myself up the new bits..

so she was runnign nicley again!

Then i got to enjoy the delights of the LRO.. and its quaint little offroad course! great fun it was, but i was dissaponted by the amount of people with heavily modified landys not trying the deepest water section going for the easiest route, bugger that!

She plodded on very happily! as did my girlfriend :D

Then the other day i had a bit of brea down at the side of the m25, unfortuantly it ended up that my wheel bearing had collapsed!

This is what was left of my half shaft;
