Pondering getting a P38 and keep reading in the sale descriptions of various lamps on the dash, suspension brain issues etc. What I don't seem to have seen is a dedicated interrogation / reset device (like Lexia for Citroen, if any other Citroenists are here !) that deals with the vehicles electronics as a whole.

Is there such a device and if not, is there an effective diy solution to the elctronics issue that arise ?

Mike.

Hi Mike,

Yes you can buy devices that will read all the codes on all the systems of a P38 as well as resetting them and much more. No DIY solution that I'm aware of though. Prices for this kit can be high. I have a Faultmate MSV-2 from Black box solutions myself locked to the VIN of the car. Just google BBS then look at the shop link.

You can get a free piece of software and make up a cable for looking at the EAS system only, something I also have done before I bought the faultmate.

I'm sure others on here will give you more info regarding other kit. Just remember nothing on or for a RR is cheap.

There are devices, Nanocom possibly the best bet for all round cover. Diagnostics for the EAS are cheap and very effective. See Datatek on here for cable and software. Around the £20.00 mark. But you do need a laptop. Nonocom covers everything you need for DIY maintenance but is around the £400.00 mark.
