Hi

My 2001, 4.6 vogue has an intermittent misfire. Rrecently changed plugs, leads and MAF sesnor - this has greatly improved gear chaneg and power - but now there is a kind of virabtion when accelerating and occasionally a misfire pop under load.

Have rechecked leads and they seem tight (land rover replacements)...I purchaseda a code reader... which picks up these codes

P1319
P0332

Does they suggest the knock sensor on one side (drivers / passeners ??) is faulty ?

Cheers

Gary

Certainly seems so looking at the DTC Codes...

Did you run very low on motion potion as P1319 indicates a misfire at low fuel level....

I am no expert, but a misfire can give the knock senser a bit of a jolt and cause it to malfunction...

The knock senser measures for 'Knocking' and 'Pinking' of the engine due to mixture and timing changes, if the senser id giving false information, the iginition timing and fuel delivery will be incorrect causing lumpy and misfiring running...

I would certainly check the knock senser....

Hi

Would you be able to advise which side I should check from the DTC code ?
Havent been able to see the culprit yet - is it accessible from top or bottom?

Cheers

The DTC Indicates the RH side Knock Senser....

I would disconnect and clean the contacts with Electrical Contact Cleaner first, and check the integrity of the wiring first.

I attach some images from the Workshop Manual that *may* help you....

They are located on the underside of the engine on either side of the crank case.....
