My thousand quid L322 has so far behaved itself.

Today saw me at the tyre place that I trust and the 2 makes of All-terrain that they could supply in my my size were General Grabbers at nearly 700 quid, or Devanti’s at 500.
Opted for the Devanti ones.
The reviews I saw online looked ok.
Off shooting tomorrow, so will report back on my opinion.

Sorry for the delay, there was some lager with my name on it yesterday!

I decided on the Devantis partly on price (£500 for 4) and partly on some reviews I’d read online.
Also the tyre place I use recommended them, and not just because they sell them!

The first morning after they were fitted, I was off shooting.
It was belting down with rain as I left.
The first part of my journey is about 4 miles of fast, flowing A road.
They gripped nicely, even when pushing on, and felt confidence inspiring on the wet road.
They actually felt better than the road tyres that had just come off, but that may be due to having the tracking sorted.
I pushed it into a roundabout or two and there was little to no understeer.

The next part is 20 miles of motorway.
I’ve had several sets of A/Ts on various vehicles before and these are by far the quietest ones I’ve come across. They still hum at motorway speeds, but only really noticeable with the window down.

The next stage was wet stubble fields and rutted mud tracks.
The tyres coped fine, baring in mind I had 4 dogs in the boot.
I courted disaster by stopping on quite steep inclines and burying the throttle and only managed to get the traction control to kick in once, so pretty impressed.
They don’t fling mud everywhere and clean up within a few yards when back on tarmac.
They also don’t hold onto stones that then drive you mad clicking as you drive along.

On dry roads they handle as well as any other road tyre on a ~3 tonne 4x4.

All in all, I’m impressed by them, especially as they are so much cheaper than General Grabbers.
The real proof will be in how they wear.

They look like across between grabber at3 and dyna pro at2's.
I got 40.000mls out of my set of grabbers. On and off road dry and wet. I'm hoping that the hankook are similar although the side walls aren't as strong. ;)
