Bastard...

7:45 for me ;) (parent's live in a convenient location!)

Oh... and... I have a MOT!!!!

Though a year off the road has really taken its toll on the poor series... it's safe, but, mechanically it's not anywhere close to happy at present

It's the extra 5 that makes all the difference ;) I might be getting a new heater tomorrow then she can all go back together :) although it is bog standard ! Road tyres everything, shall be interesting to say the least . . But comfortable :p

Woo mot passes are always pleasurable, Least you can use it now anyway even if it isn't perfect

Agreed, what a **** head! :D

Im an hour away at least. Nice open road though lichfield to ashbourne, especially at that time on a sunday morning.

Ang on, could do A38 instead. ere MarkL, whats quicker???

how fast can you go?

If you can do 70 do A38 - the A515 has lots of speed cameras on the A515 through Draycott

Where are you coming from? (I used to do Birmingham to Ashbourne area about 15 times a week so no the routes well...)

Apart from a 5 mile bit through dray or its not too bad that way, 45 mins to Birmingham I'd say

I'm coming from the Norf, from Stockport basically.

Just wondering what you chaps would recommend, there's the A523 through Macclesfield or the A515 through Buxton. Only half a mile difference in length so it's all down to road quality/speed etc.

I'm allowing an hour and a half for a 47 mile journey, better to be there early and guaranteed to leave a little late, but planning to leave at 6.30

What route would you local chaps recommend please?

Cheers :)

If you come the Macclesfield way there's tonnes of speed cameras between leek and ash which gets really annoying, Buxton way will be straight, pretty much no speed cameras and you'll pass some of the entrances to lanes on the way ;) I always come back from Manchester airport Macclesfield way if that helps ?

TD5 :D Can do a ton if i want but it quite like to keep all the bolts in my steering box please. :D

Erm ill just sit at 60. Think ill do A38, straight and easier i think. no stupid islands near the prisons and all that jazz i suppose either. :D

Thanks

Im coming over from crewe so sat nav says a50 a515 or is there any faster roads.

A50 then A515 or you could go A50 then in Uttoxeter take the left at Mc Donalds for Alton Towers, staight on past JCB, through Ellastone, Mayfield and into Ashbourne - they're probably about the same distance though, so, assuming you don't get stuck behind a lorry doing 40 on the A515 you should be ok going that route

Bugger nearly forgot, well done Mike, that's a relief!!

From what mechanical troubles do you suffer?? :(

Gearbox was screaming it's guts out at 45.. but fine at 50 so no idea what that's about. Steering is all over the shop too, might be the bigger tyres or possibly tracking or the box on it's way out.

It sit's well on the new suspension though, loads higher - and i've only done the back so far!
