hi
i am going to change the rocker cover gasket in my 300tdi . is it going to be dificult or not . what does it involve

also i changed the oil in my landy at the weekend dexron 3 atf in r380gearbox and ep90 in tranny box . so i will let you know if it ****s up .

I would have thought it would involve taking the rocker cover off, replacing the gasket, then putting the rocker cover back on. How hard can it be?

Requires just two nuts and one bolt on my old 2.5 N/A, as well as a bit of careful cleaning of the gunky ****e left from my previous sticky backed gasket. I'd recomend a standard cork gasket without the sticky back and just whack it onto the rocker cover with some hylomar silicone gasket or something alike. It'll mean you don't have to clean the mess up again should it leak and require adjustment (which would of course require another new gasket for the sake of it)

Its easy. The gasket sits inside a groove on the rocker cover.

Undo bolts, remove rocker cover, pull old gasket out of slit/groove, re-fit new gasket into slit/groove.Bolt rocker cover back down. It is THAT straight forward. 10 mins.
