Defender td5 headlight troubles

My 1999 td5 now has no sidelights no dipped or main beam only flash will work theres no current to any of the fuses and there is current in the brown wire of the sidelight switch when its turned off but none when it is turned on

Switch burned out.? You have current to the switch but not after when switched is used?

Chances are it is the light switch. They are cheap enough and easy to replace

I tried the new light switch problem still there and have tried a new main beam stalk as well

Is there enough volts coming in as theres only 6v coming in on the brown wire and theres 0.2v on the blue and red wires

Update my earth ppint for the meter was bad i now have 9v on brown wire with switch off and 0v on all wires with switch on

Another source of power loss is the fuses themselves. Sometime they don't exactly blow but develop a very high resistance. This has happened to me a couple of times and I've wondered why I've only got a couple of volts at the accessory in question.

Ive checked ones under fuse box and under the seat
