Defender TD5 front wheel bearing

dont fit britpart they dont last long !! suprise suprise. Take the flange off and make sure the side of the locknut has been burred over to lock off .
If it has go one step further unlock it see if it will pinch uo not to tight though,
if you have the kit torque it up probaly the safe way dont ignore it.
it can be very scary should it collapse

Ok cheers, im going to drop the flange off and check it first, i havent got any noise from the bearing so im hoping it just needs nipping up! Just brought a 52mm box spanner il let you know how i get on saturday
 
For anybody interested, i removed the flange and tweeked the lock nut up, put it all back together and play has gone :D well chuffed
 
hmm will have a go at this tomorrow, btw were ddid you get the 53 mm box spanner?
mines started to whine today, mat have to replace them
 
52mm socket is better for td5s as the use a single nut torqued up tight with a solid selectable spacer between the bearings to keep bearing setting right,while earlier two nuts lock against each other after you set bearings
