Defender TD5 2004 ticks over but wont rev

Did you have water trickling down the back of the drivers footwell under the dash?

have had a good look around the throttle potentiometer all dry no water leaks in side. it happen about six months ago as well after i steam clean it checked all the plugs under the bonnet and around the gear box they was all dry and clean left for few hours to dry it has been fine untill tonight. the rac are on the way so hopefully they mite pull a fault code out of the dionogstics
