A friends white Defender 90 was stolen from outside his house in Upper Beeding, West Sussex last night. Well looked after and tastefully upgraded/modified.

Afraid I do not have many details at present - will post more as I find out.

Thought I'd just give a warning to those in Sussex that the scum are around

Please see this thread for more details http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f43/stolen-defender-90-a-174268.html

Hey Roy

Sorry to hear about your Landy. Hope you don't mind me starting a post on here about it (even though I got some details wrong!), I've edited my original post and put a link in to your thread.

UPDATE for those who are interested.

Was talking to Roy earlier, Landy was found parked in a quiet lane in a neighbouring village about 6 miles away - pressumably left it waiting to see if it had a tracker? No damage at all, all locks including ignition all intact, suspected professional job.

BAD NEWS - it's been stolen again! White Defender 90, reg H599 EUT taken from Upper Needing nr Shoreham in Sussex last night (Wed 17th April). I'll post more details as I get them.

Keep 'em peeled..

Thanks

Mmmm. Mine was 'cased' before they stole mine. Basically as you suspect - they must have stolen a few land rovers in their time.

I had deadlocks too. The factory locks had been opened when they 'cased' it. No lock damage.
Until i found the remains and saw how much trouble the deadlocks had caused for them - i will be fitting them on the next one.

Hope you get yours back in one piece.

you need to add a disc lock and a clutch claw and maybe a shift lock

Ok let's clear this up.

Roy's Rover has been taken from outside his home for a second time 17th April 2013 (first theft was January 2012). For all the negative thinkers who have assumed that he was just leaving the fate of his Landy to luck - you are wrong. Although there was no alarm fitted Roy had taken precautions and was using amongst other devices, a disclock.

Again, nobody heard or saw it being taken. Nobody was caught after the first theft, and it is possible that the same lowlifes have returned for the Landy a second time and taken it further a field and made a better attempt to keep it out of sight this time.

Roy and I have been out of the country since the theft, and I've not spoken to him since his return home on Sunday, so let's hope he's had some good news.

No, negative thinkers........... We know they have a red bulls eye on them.
Just like to know what security they had on them other than factory installed.

Just 1 question was it a disc lock brand or another brand of a steering wheel lock.
