Defender steering wheel play

Hi all help needed I have a td5 defender and I have play up and down on my steering wheel . Left and right is fine . Thanks ray

How much movement are you talking about? Sounds like the steering column upper tie bar needs may be loose, have a look and see where the movement is - it should be obvious if there is a lot of play.
