Hello everyone,
Brand new to this site. Have had Landrovers for 10 years. Discovery TDi and now a Defender 90.
Any suggestion to the cause of an oil leak which drips from the centre of the back axle hub?

regards
Richard

What do you mean the back axle hub? The wheel hub?

If so one of your bearing seals my have gone mate.

Pretty easy to sort out (And cheep) In fact have a look at Busters 'How to' page im pretty sure iv seen a great explanation on hub seal replace (Or wheel bearing replace)

Hope this helps ;)

If it looks like it's coming out from behind the rubber end cap, then do as Scott says. However, check the breather hose (the thin black pipe that comes out of the middle of the axle and ends under the rear floor) My seal went, i changed all the seals only to realise that because the breather was clogged, so pressure built up when the oil warmed up and expanded and subsequently blew all my new seals
