defender nuts and bolts

in the new year im planning on rebuilding my defender 110 on a new galv chassis. The plan is to lift the whole body, doors and bulkhead in one. Rebuild the rolling chassis and drop it back on. As its 20plus years old most of the nuts will need grinding off. Does any one know what nut and bolt sizes ill need as im planning on getting a job lot before I start.

YRM do kits for bolting many things to many other things

M6, M8, M10 and M12 will cover most of them, but I'd throw in a few M14's as well.

And don’t forget to use the correct strength rating for each application, e.g don’t use stainless for structural fixing, where hi-tensile should be used instead etc.

I reckon if you gave them a bell and told them what your doing they'd put a set together for you. Very helpful people.

Feeling rough as rats, as it goes, stinking head cold, getting by on Lemsip and cough syrup.

Hoping you are feeling a bit more festive up there.

The big day took care of itself - its all about the kids. Can't be doing with the pre-hype, the after-hype etc - just sitting waiting for the phone to ring and go and Recover some poor sod that ain't making it home under their own steam

Feel exactly the same myself. I can do Christmas from Christmas Eve afternoon, through to about Boxing Day mid-day.
I can't do the six weeks of hype, spending, Christmas light switch ons, and all that jazz.

Best of luck with the recoveries. I would be working or doing something myself if I wasn't so ill. Fortunately my daughter is 32, so she makes few demands for festive action.

... And don't use stainless to fasten aluminum unless you want your land rover to turn to dust.
