I have decided to sell my 1.4 ratio transfer box as I converted to a disco box about 2 years ago and now would never go back to the defender original.
The box was rebuilt during my rebuild and once installed only covered 5000 miles before it was swapped out. The work carried out was as follows:
All oil seals and gaskets (Inspection cover gasket may need replacing again)
Cross drilled input gear
Full internal diff gear set
New internal diff cross pin
Full bearing set
Intermediate Shaft
New drive flange
See pictures below for evidence of the work done. It's sat unused for the last 2 years but there's nothing wrong with it at all and should provide many more thousands of miles. All the work has been done, may just need the inspection cover gasket replacing as it leaked slightly (don't they all?). I'm looking for around £200 or offers near. Considering the amount of work put in, it's much cheaper than an exchange box. The box is located in Southampton but with prior arrangement I can organise delivery around Oxford. I will get pictures tomorrow of the box as it's currently tucked away in the garage.
