The cllutch on my Deep-ender is not working, there appears to be fluid dribbled onto the drivers floor mat....

What fluid does it require, is it easy to bleed? can you just top it up? Help! :)

Im stuck at work now with it.... :(
 
no, you can do it manually, but an eezi bleed kit is far easier. I would consider geting towed home rather than trying to replace both cylinders at work. Its a bitch of a job and can take anything from 3 hours onwards.

Wait til night time when the roads are quiet and drive yer landy home as it is. If you put the vehicle in gear, let off the handbrake and then turn the ignition key while pressing the throttle your landy will take off down the road. You can generally change up the gearboxas long as you keep the revs low and ease it into gear. Coming back down the box on most vehicles is a sod. I've driven quite a few vehicles in this manner. some of them hundreds of miles.

had to do this when me clutch fork went thru.drove 35 miles with no clutch,turning enjin off at junctions and starting in gear was eventfull,and praying that a roundabout was clear so u could keep goin was stressfull but it got me home
 
Hi guys,

My old 3.5 V8 110 had a leaking clutch. I found that if i parked it on a slope with the offside higher than the nearside, i.e. the clutch reservoir highest, the hydraulic system bled itself, which helped get me home several times when i forgot to top her up.

Same deal really, at the end of the say both systems leave you with no clutch.

When my clutch cover failed I put mine in 3rd and took off in third changing up to 4th and 5th (and without crunching I remember), could take it back into 4th and 3rd but 2nd was not happening.

The clutch system is remarkable good at self bleeding itself. My slave clinder has a slow leak - new one just arrived but can't be arsed to fit it at the moment - I know i'm living on borrowed time here....... - but everytime if goes to the floor, and i fill it back up - every 1-2 weeks it self bleeds it's self within a few miles just by the air rising throuugh the system - Good design or just lucky?
 
I got the Landy home the other day by topping up the reservior and pumping like mad until i got a bit of a pedal, did a couple of other journeys in it too, but went bad again so phoned the local landy garage....

£300 and 2 weeks to wait :( (they are a good garage just out the door!)

I was told its a pig of a job and they were right! Has taken me ages to get the master cylinder and pedal assembly out tonight! Easy to get the bolts out....not so easy to get the damn thing out!

Off to the motor factors tomorrow for a new cylinder...then fun and games trying to put it back together and bleed it! :) If only I was rich...I would have paid the £300 hahahahaha

YEEHAW Buster - Thats ace! I had to wrestle the pedal box out from between the servo and the header tank....I undid the header tank mounting and pushed it out of the way :)

Your pics are ace - Think I will give mine a blast of paint whilst its out and I never thought of the sealant...But that makes perfect sense! Cheers one again :)

P.S. My Clan Motto is...."This I'll Defend" ;)
