hi anyone got any ideas whats going on with my '94 110 300tdi.... the temp needle has always struggled to get up to 1/4-1/2 even on the longest of drives. the coolant level is fine, no water in the oil. there is the heat of a small field mouse farting coming from the vents. ive bleed the system and this never helped. since sunday's trip to the plains the temp needle hasn't gone above first white line -1/4 and still no heat??? i had this on another car and not long after the headgasket went! i know defenders dont tend to be the warmest of motors but is there anything else i can try befor buying a new heater matrix?? or is it soon to be game over?:mil88:

Sounds absolutely normal to me....mine started getting warm at the end of a 50 mile journey...i thought, why bother meddling...its great in the summer...and put a electric fan into the fag lighter...

Just like MH said , get a new stat in there and jam a rag in the passenger vents like I do to get some sort of heat into the drivers side .
Failing that block half the rad off
( but keep an eye on your temp guage )

.

DO NOT BLOCK THE RAD!! I TRIED THIS AND KILLED IT...TO DEATH!! There is no reason whatsoever to use a rad-muff in england!! Believe me...i did it at -25 and it ****ed the 2.5n/a...desist desist desist!!
