Are you sure it's not just the switch - they are notorious for being tempramental, can you get the blower to come on by pushing it down hard? Just a thought before you get all your dash etc off!

My heater has blown the fuse, now not working. Looks like taking the heater box out? can you buy the resister?

Hi as suggested I would confirm the switch is working, unplug the connector on the fan housing, connect in a new fuse and switch on the fan, fuse still ok? Check the connector for voltage, if everything is ok connect the fan wiring plug, if the fuse blows start looking at the fan motor assy.
I hope this helps :)

Just done mine on the 110, blower motor siezed, fitted new motor and after market air vent cover to the wing to try and prevent water getting in again, problems i came across were rebuilding the perished seal between the box and bulk head, couple of rounded/snapped 10mm nuts and tight space to remove heater box assembly, just enough to do so without removing the wing though. I didn't have a heater in mine for 5 years, even tho it's not very powerful it makes so much difference, especially with my 15mm door gaps lol.

hi all,

do you think if it's possible to replace my existing (1987) defender's heater unit with 2007-onward defender's?:)

Get a spare & re-furb it.
When you swap them over make sure you seal all the gaps.
You want the warm air to get to the cab & not the engine bay :)
You can get neoprene foam strip off Fleabay for a few pence, works a treat :)
Check Busters posts too.
