Defender door don’t line up

Hi does anyone know how to fix this ?

Have you used any of the plastic spacers under the hinge ? Like these http://www.paddockspares.com/bdc710...MIpL79pt3q1QIVChbTCh14GQbYEAQYAiABEgJg2PD_BwE they push the door into the frame .

it might help to slacken roof to side bolts and pull the side out

If it's only the tops that crank over, remove all glass, fit the plastic spacer, under the hinges, (so that the bottom and top are flush with the bulkhead), and if it still needs a bit more 'encouragement' physically bend the top into place.
The glass can then be refitted, as there is generallly enough room and play to allow the glass to go up and down (or slide).
Depending on the type of doors you have. Mine are Series, two part doors, which allow me to take the tops off in summer.

Looks like, as said above, it is a shim issue, however the door tops can sometimes bend and a gentle pull on them while you have someone hold the bottom will help, I had this on my drivers side door. A little "adjustment" and they were perfect! Your door does look very straight up and down, I am sure both of mine take a slight bend inward.

The doors take a fair bit of tinkering to get them to sit correctly, even from the factory they are way out! I eventually got mine sitting as far as I can see perfectly, EXCEPT the 1/4 radius section sits a little proud yet the whole door sits spot on everywhere else. I decided it was as good as I would get it, the seal works so that will do.

To get the door in, you would be best putting the shims door side, by doing it pillar side you are moving the whole lot further out, shimming it in on the door side will push it in.

What did it take? Couple of shims on the door side of the upper hinge?

Took 3 shims on the top hinge and pushed the top in

It might be the hinges lift one end of door if there is play that's your problem

There are times when an ever-so tiny little bit of brute force is sufficient!

Well done that man.
It's amazing how much difference you can get when you loosen everything off and tighten it up again, with some pushing and shoving in a slightly different direction. Angles and shut gaps can change by a surprising amount.
